February Cookie of the Month: Strawberries & Cream

February’s Cookie of the Month is a Valentine in cookie form: Strawberries & Cream. Soft and sweet, these cookies taste like a strawberry milkshake, with cream cheese flavored baking bits adding a rich, tangy dimension.
I chose this recipe for February after a co-worker recently reminisced about trying these cookies in December. “Those strawberry cookies were so good!” she said.
The Strawberries & Cream cookie is my own creation, first baked in 2024. It has quickly become a favorite, especially for my daughter’s boyfriend, who makes a beeline for them at our annual cookie party.
I make these cookies using Wisconsin ingredients, including Meadowlark Community Mill flour from Ridgeway, rich Weyauwega butter from central Wisconsin, Cathy’s Pure Vanilla Extract handcrafted north of Madison, and S&R cage-free eggs from Whitewater. Wisconsin products make up 51% of the ingredient cost for these cookies, reflecting my commitment to using local ingredients in my baking.
