Wilson’s Fine Wisconsin Honey, to be featured in our March Cookie of the Month.

March calls for something warm and golden from the oven.

This month’s cookie pairs the deep, complex sweetness of honey with rich Wisconsin butter and the bittersweet crunch of toasted walnuts. They’re cozy, nutty, and just sweet enough. The kind of cookie that feels right with a cup of cocoa while winter slowly loosens its grip.

I chose this recipe because I recently picked up honey from a high school classmate’s business, Wilson’s Honey Farm, and couldn’t wait to bake with it. Their honeycomb was just named Overall Best in Show at the North American Honeybee Expo, out of 1,200 entries.

Even better? It’s practically next door.

You can find their honey at Dam Paradise in Indianford, making this the closest to home we’ve ever sourced an ingredient.

And it’s not the only local star.
